Closing Festival Concert: Alsop conducts Clyne and Beethoven - In partnership with the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship

Description: Marin Alsop and Taki Alsop Conducting Fellow Anna Duczmal-Mroz lead the closing festival concert with works by Vivian Fung, Anna Clyne and Ludwig van Beethoven. Fung's Earworms, a feisty and whimsical orchestral commentary on today's world, is joined by Clyne's DANCE for cello and orchestra, based on poetry by 13th century Persian poet Rumi. The program culminates with Beethoven's fifth symphony, a tumultuous depiction of the composer's struggle with fate.
